SPECIAL FORECAST

Chesnutt Custom Forecast

While most media present general forecasts that are averaged over several counties, we concentrate on the immediate times and locations of specific events. These custom forecasts are compiled by Oswego Blade Web Services, evaluating data from many sources with our proprietary Differential Analog Forecast Technique. One of its unusual features is the ability to estimate the reliability of extended forecasts. Our Confidence Level Index (CLI) provides a guide, on a scale of 1 to 10, as to whether further revisions may be needed, or whether you can pretty much depend on the forecast as written.

Sale Forecast Originated Sunday, Jan.22
Checked Saturday 9 PM

Not much change needed this week, despite starting with a relatively low confidence level. The amount of expected cloud cover differs from one forecast period to the next, but overall it looks as if Sunday's weather will be nice, starting out the day a little below normal temperature but ending slightly above.

CHETOPA, KS - SUN. JAN. 29 - Mostly sunny and dry. Temperature in the low to mid 40s at the start of the sale, rising to the upper 40s by the end. Light breezes. CLI: 9.5

However...because storms can cause network outages or connection delays, do not depend solely on any Internet service for critical last-minute safety-of-life warnings when storms are in your immediate vicinity! Always have a backup source to ensure reliable access to warnings, such as a NOAA Weather Radio with a warning alarm device. We also recommend tuning to Pittsburg or Joplin TV stations when severe weather is nearby.
